Offset Britain is a UK-registered carbon offset provider based in Canary Wharf, London. We help individuals and businesses reduce their climate impact by purchasing and permanently retiring verified carbon credits on their behalf.
Every certificate we issue includes a unique verification ID that can be checked through our public verification system at any time, by anyone.
How it works
When you subscribe to an Offset Britain plan, we purchase carbon credits from independently verified emission reduction projects. These credits are permanently retired from public registries, meaning they cannot be resold or reused.
Your digital certificate is issued immediately with a unique verification ID. Credit retirements are recorded on the issuing registry and can be independently confirmed.
Where the credits come from
We source credits exclusively from projects certified under internationally recognised standards:
- Verra Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) - The world's most widely used voluntary carbon offset programme
- Gold Standard for the Global Goals - Maximum climate and development impact, established with WWF
- UN Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) - United Nations verified projects from developing nations
- UK Woodland Carbon Code - UK-registered forestry projects
Each project undergoes independent third-party auditing before credits are issued. Project selection is based on verification status, project type, geographic diversity, and availability.
Beyond carbon
Every plan also funds measurable social and environmental co-benefits. Our tree planting programmes in East Africa restore degraded land, create paid local employment, fund school meals, and provide clean water access in planting communities.
Monthly impact receipts show exactly where your money goes, tonnes offset, trees planted, and community hours funded.
Transparency and verification
Every certificate we issue includes a unique verification ID linked to a public verification page. Credit retirements are recorded on the issuing registry and can be independently confirmed. We do not make claims that cannot be verified through public records.
Offset Britain sources carbon credits exclusively from projects verified by internationally recognised standards. Every credit we retire on behalf of our customers is issued and tracked through independent registries maintained by these organisations. We are not accredited by, endorsed by, or affiliated with these standards bodies - we purchase verified credits from projects that have been independently audited and certified under their programmes. The logos below indicate the verification standards applied to the carbon offset projects available through our platform.
