2. Use of Minors' Data
Our Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us at info@offsetbritain.org to request its deletion.
3. Sharing of Personal Information
We share your Personal Information with service providers who assist us in delivering our services and fulfilling our contractual obligations. Our online store is powered by Shopify Inc. For information on how Shopify processes your data, please visit their privacy policy. We may also disclose your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws, respond to lawful requests, or protect our legal rights.
We use a third-party IP address lookup service (ipify) to determine visitors' IP addresses when they submit forms on our Site. This information is used solely for fraud prevention and abuse detection. We also use Google Apps Script and HubSpot to store and manage lead and contact data.
We use Microsoft Clarity to capture how you use and interact with our Site through behavioural metrics, heatmaps, and session replay. This helps us improve and market our products and services. Clarity automatically masks input fields and does not collect information that can identify you. The information is captured by Microsoft as our data processor and is governed by Microsoft's privacy practices, which are set out in their privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com.
4. Behavioural Advertising
We may use your Personal Information to provide targeted advertisements or marketing communications that we believe may interest you. We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use our Site. You may opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You may opt out of Microsoft Clarity by enabling "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" in your browser, or by adjusting your cookie preferences on our Site.
You may opt out of targeted advertising through the settings pages of Facebook, Google, and Bing, or via the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out portal at optout.aboutads.info.
5. Lawful Basis for Processing (GDPR)
If you are resident in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your Personal Information under the following lawful bases: your consent; performance of our contract with you; compliance with our legal obligations; protection of your vital interests; performance of a task in the public interest; and our legitimate interests, where these do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.
6. Data Retention
We shall retain your Personal Information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law, or until you request erasure of your data.
7. Automated Decision-Making
We do not engage in fully automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you. Our processor Shopify may use limited automated decision-making for fraud prevention purposes, including temporary denylisting of IP addresses or payment cards associated with suspicious activity.
We may use IP addresses collected during form submissions to restrict access to our calculator tools where we identify patterns of misuse or abuse. Such restrictions are applied manually and are not the result of fully automated decision-making.
8. Your Rights
Under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to access, correct, update, port, or request erasure of your Personal Information. To exercise these rights, please contact us at info@offsetbritain.org. We shall respond to your request within one calendar month.
Your Personal Information may initially be processed within the United Kingdom and European Economic Area and may subsequently be transferred outside these regions for storage and processing. Such transfers comply with applicable data protection legislation.
9. Cookies
A cookie is a small data file downloaded to your device when you visit our Site. We use functional, performance, analytics, and advertising cookies to enhance your browsing experience, remember your preferences, and analyse Site usage. Analytics cookies are set by tools such as Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, which help us understand how the Site is used so we can improve it.
Session cookies expire when you close your browser; persistent cookies remain until they expire or are deleted. Most cookies we use are persistent and expire between 30 minutes and two years from download.
You may control cookies through your browser settings. Please note that blocking cookies may impair Site functionality. We do not alter most of our data collection practices in response to "Do Not Track" signals. However, Microsoft Clarity will respect a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal sent from your browser and will not record your session.
10. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
